CSC was awarded the Silver Award in the Electronic Trading category of the Management Consultancies Association, Best Management Practice Awards for an e-Commerce Connections project delivered at BAE Systems, adding to six previous MCA award wins since 1997.

The CSC team transformed a largely paper based procurement process by linking several disparate procurement systems into one common interface, enabling BAE Systems to electronically trade with a net-market called EXOSTAR and is estimated to save at least £20 million by 2010.

The success of the project stemmed from the close working relationship between CSC and BAE Systems and is best summed up by BAE Systems IT and e-business director, Chris Coupland who said, “Together, BAE Systems and CSC turned IT consulting theory into automated processes and real cash savings.”

CSC was also short-listed for three other awards for projects delivered at:

BAE Systems and Thales in the Change Management category and also for a unique project delivered at General Dynamics in the Technology Exploitation category.
