CSC’s Life Cycle Management Group provides a range of services to help organisations manage and prosper from the full life cycle of products, from concept, through development and production, and on through in service support and mid-life updates to retirement and disposal. That cycle applies to sectors like insurance and retailing, as much as it does to manufacturing and transportation. Increasingly, life cycles have to be managed across a group of organisations that are collaborating to produce products and services.

Document Management

The volume of documents which organisations have to create and manage continues to expand. Document Management from CSC creates a strategy to handle this information, and puts in place systems to translate paper documents into electronic form, so that they can be stored, searched and modified efficiently. These documents range from forms and invoices, through to engineering drawings and historical records.

Product Data Management

Product Data Management keeps control of all the engineering and associated data which goes with a product as it is designed and manufactured. CSC puts in PDM to help organisations manage the configuration of products through the life cycle – controlling life cycle costs and improving product safety. PDM can be applied to new product programmes, or installed into existing ones.

Organisation Change

The life cycle approach means that employees must think collaboratively and with a strong customer focus, in order to achieve the best business results. CSC is at the forefront of enabling organisations to work this way, placing a heavy emphasis on getting staff directly involved in designing new systems and ways of working.
